Extracted from great quality copra, which is thoroughly dried to ensure that it has no moisture, which otherwise leads to rancidity and lower shelf life. We adopt a unique off-farm processing method to manufacture products free from fungus and sulphur treatment, making us stand out from other brands. We use semi-cold press extraction technology, which assures that clear filtered oil is produced, retaining most of its healthy components, natural goodness and freshness.

Nourishes skin and body
- The medium-chain fatty acids in Green Valley's Coconut Oil have antimicrobial properties that can help protect against harmful microorganisms. This is especially important for skin health, as many skin infections, including acne, cellulitis, folliculitis and athlete's foot, are caused by bacteria or fungi. Applying coconut oil directly to the skin may prevent the growth of these microorganisms.
- It is a natural make-up remover that gently dissolves long-lasting, highly pigmented make-up without drying your skin.
- It is also suitable for chapped lips and is great for pre-bath massages and post-bath hydration.
Supports hair care
- Green Valley's Coconut Oil can be used as a conditioner, as a post wash detangler and also as a hair mask. When used regularly (two to three times a week), it has the power to make your hair grow longer, thicker, and healthier. The vitamins and fatty acids in it help nourish your scalp and penetrate the hair's cuticle.
- Excessive grooming can damage the hair shaft, which in extreme circumstances can cause hair loss. Coconut oil can help keep your hair in good condition and prevent this.
- It moisturizes your hair and reduces breakage, and helps in controlling frizz.
- It protects your hair from protein loss and damage when wet.
- It has antimicrobial properties and could help treat dandruff. It can protect your hair from environmental damage like wind, sun, and smoke.
Curbs hunger
Some people have said that coconut oil leaves them feeling fuller after eating. This is because MCTs are metabolized as ketones which lead to reduced appetite. Coconut oil is one of the key ingredients in the Keto Diet.
A must-have in the kitchen
Green Valley's Conventional Coconut Oil is very different from most other cooking oils and contains a unique composition of fatty acids. The fatty acids are about 90% saturated. But coconut oil is perhaps most unique for its high content of saturated fat - lauric acid, which makes up around 40% of its total fat content. These are harder for the body to convert into stored fat and easier to burn off than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs). This makes it highly resistant to oxidation at high heat. For this reason, it is very suitable for sauteing or stir-frying in a pan. It is also a good substitute for butter or eggs in baked dishes.
Maintains a healthy heart
Green Valley's Conventional Coconut Oil contains natural saturated fats that increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels in your body. There are two types of cholesterol: high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or good cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or bad cholesterol. By increasing HDL, many experts believe that coconut oil boosts heart health compared with many other fats. Regularly consuming it improves the levels of lipids circulating in the blood, potentially reducing the risk of heart disease.
Helps overcome indigestion
Green Valley's Coconut Oil has medium-chain fatty acids that are natural antiseptics. This help kill some of the bad bacteria in your stomach and aid the body in producing chloride, which balances stomach acids. It relieves some of the damage done to the esophagus by the acid it's continuously exposed to.
Balances hormones
Coconut oil can help maintain an essential balance of hormones because of the lauric acid contained in it.

How is Green Valley's Coconut Oil different from other brands?
Green Valley does not buy copra from the market, which contains Sulphur, a toxic preservative, soot and dirt, and damaged nuts making the input inferior. The general industry practice follows that to remove the bad smell of such copra, the copra is roasted, leading to the oil content of the copra getting boiled. The oil is again boiled in the expeller for complete extraction. The consumer receives oil which is boiled twice and then cooled down. Studies prove that oil once boiled and cooled is not fit for consumption and should not be used for cooking. Hot pressing involves extracting oil at high temperatures, and because the acid value rises significantly, it loses most of its natural quality. Boiling the oil in the expeller not only changes the chemical structure of the oil, but in the process, a lot of essential substances like vitamin E, sterols, and carotenoids are lost.
Green Valley dehusks the procured coconuts, dries them thoroughly through hot air blowing, and immediately extracts oil from the copra. Therefore, no preservatives are used in the process. Moreover, Green Valley extracts oil through a screw press (mechanical crushing under high pressure) in its first round. Then the remaining oil is extracted through a cold-press expeller. Thus, coconut oil extracted through semi-cold presses, is retained of its natural physiological and chemical properties and its original taste. Green Valley's products are unrefined, untreated, and pure.
What are the attributes of Coconut Oil?
- Coconut oil comes with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-aging properties and can be used for inside-out nourishment.
- Coconut oil is mild on the skin and is widely used in the tropics to protect both skin and hair from the harsh effect of the sun as it contains Vitamin E.
- Coconut oil solidifies when the temperature drops below 24 degrees Celsius.
- Pure coconut oil has a fresh aroma and taste and is transparent at or above 24 degrees Celsius.
- Coconut oil is one of the most stable oils and is highly resistant to rancidity. It is stable because of its high proportion (90%) of saturated fats. It is the unsaturated fats in the common seed oils that are easily oxidized and susceptible to rancidity.
- It generally has 60% + medium-chain fatty acids.
Why does Green Valley not procure roasted copra from outside to produce coconut oil?
Copra available in the market comes from different groups, including small and big merchants. We do not follow the practice of buying roasted copra from the market. Roasting affects copra's quality and does not remove the moisture content to the level required. The copra is often treated with smoke and might contain Sulphur, a toxic preservative, added as an antimicrobial agent for preventing bacterial and fungal growth. Sulphur restricts lung performance and leads to direct allergenic reactions. Coconut dried directly over the fire in country dryers will be coated with soot and other impurities. Additionally, damaged nuts are not discarded from the copra available in the market, making the copra and the oil extracted from it inferior.
Green Valley procures raw material directly from the local farmers, ensuring them of the right price and transparency in quality testing, weight estimation, and inspection processes. We thoroughly dry the copra through two-step hot air blowing which ensures that copra has only the right amount of moisture which otherwise leads to rancidity and low shelf life. This way, the quality and freshness of the copra is retained
Why Green Valley?
At Green Valley, we source our coconuts directly from local farmers, ensuring not only the highest quality products but also empowering the farming community. By paying fair prices, we help make agriculture a sustainable livelihood for them, contributing to the local economy and fostering a more equitable food system.
